Rafting
Although Turkey is famous for its Mediterranean hot sunny beaches and marvelous summer vacations, there are other activities that can be practiced in the country and bring unforgettable experience. Rafting is one such activity. Although this is a little known fact, Turkey has some excellent rivers for water rafting, such as the Çoruh River, rated by professional rafters as one of the top ten rafting rivers in the world.
The only skill you should have in order to try this thrilling action sport is to be able to swim, even though you are well equipped with a lifejacket and a helmet. You should also be ready to get wet any time! The raft which carries 4-8 people is under the full control of a professional guide. As a part of the crew, you row in accordance with the guide's instructions in order to direct the raft in the right direction. What’s more, not only the rafting process itself brings great pleasure but also the beautiful routes through forests and remote areas. The best time for rafting comes with the spring. After the winter rains, the water levels are high, the rapids exciting, and the weather is starting to warm up.
